“I was lucky I was on my phone at the time texting my lass as I was looking down.

“The glass would have hit me in the face but I had my hat on so it hit the peak of my cap , otherwise it would have hit me in the eye.It could have been a lot worse but everyone was unharmed.”

A Stagecoach spokesman said: “On Tuesday September 29, the driver of our Service 55 from Lancaster to Carnforth was informed by a passenger of a broken window.

CCTV on the bus was unable to identify the cause of the broken window.

“There were four passengers on board at the time and no one was injured.”
