Shop worker threatened with meat cleaver in Lancaster attempted robbery

A SHOP assistant was threatened with a meat cleaver during an attempted robbery in Lancaster.

The incident happened at Moorgate shop in Moorgate on Tuesday November 27 at around 9pm.

Two men, wearing gloves and balaclavas entered the store.

One of them remained at the entrance brandishing a meat clever shouting “Give me your money” while the other man approached the till area looking for the money.

The shop assistant managed to press the emergency alarm button and the offenders left the scene.

Detective Constable Hana Alayli-Moore said, “I would appeal to anyone who was in the area at the time and witnessed what happened or who perhaps saw the two offenders making off from the scene to come forward and contact the police.”
