AN exhibition of watercolours will be on display at the Ashton Memorial in Lancaster between August 29 and October 23.
On display in the art gallery, it will feature watercolours and giclee prints by talented artist Chris Mounsey.
Chris was born in 1954 in Felixstowe, Suffolk, but now lives in Weardale, Co. Durham.
He has painted water colours as a profession since 1980, specialising in landscape, seascape and architecture.
Since autumn 2002, he has been working on a series of etchings and monoprints, alongside his watercolours.
Chris finds his inspiration in landscape, working to convey the effects of light on land and water.
He said: “Over the last 27 years, living in the Pennines and painting professionally, I have had time to explore the effects of light and weather on the landscape around me.
“For this, watercolour seems to me the perfect medium.
