Search for despondent person launched on Morecambe promenade
Morecambe Coastguard were called out to search for a despondent person on Morecambe promenade.
Crews were called out at 11pm on Sunday night and a search was made with the assistance of Knott End Coastguard rescue team along Morecambe promenade between VVV health club and the Battery car park.
Both teams sent out a three man team and worked their way between points, meeting in the middle on each occasion whilst the vehicles covered the promenade.
After three hours the casualty could not be found and crews were stood down at 2am.
When they returned to the coastguard station they were informed that the casualty had turned up at home safe.
