A successful sci-fi novelist is launching her second novel.
Jenny Collyer is preparing to release her second book called ‘Haven’ at a special event in Lancaster.
Writing under the nom de plume of J. S. Collyer, Jenny’s first novel was entitled ‘Zero’ and both books are part of her Orbit series.
Jenny, who is an NHS admin officer based in Lancaster, said: “It’s been a great year for me. Seeing my first book reach so many readers has been a dream come true. Fans of both sci-fi and general fiction have enjoyed it, describing it as ‘James Bond meets Firefly’.”
Haven is the story of Kaleb Hugo, a soldier in the military establishment that controls the Earth in the near future.
Hugo becomes re-assigned from his prestigious military position to captain an unruly undercover vessel with an even more unruly crew. There’s action, drama, intrigue and a good amount of emotional turmoil thrown in for good measure.
Since the launch of Zero, Jenny has attended conventions including Scarborough Sci-Fi Festival, Blackpool Comic Con and Talk Nerdy 2 Me in Preston where her book has gone down a storm, even selling out at some events.
Jenny will be launching Haven at ‘Out Of This World Fiction Fest’, an event at The Gregson Centre in Lancaster on November 7 from 12pm until 4pm. This event sees a number of local authors and artists coming together to sell and sign limited edition books and prints.
Author Eddie Robson will also be attending, launching his first Science Fiction novel ‘Tomorrow Never Knows’.
