Two vehicles - a Vauxhall Astra and a Land Rover - are understood to have been involved in the collision in Slyne Road at around 3pm this afternoon, December 11.
Lancashire Police said roads had been closed between Beaumont College and Aldrens Lane, which was causing traffic issues, and that they were treating the incident as serious.
