The course run by Knight Training called ARAR, the Award for Responsible Alcohol Retailing, aims to teach people about the harm that alcohol can do, and helps people understand the licensing laws and the licensing objectives, prevent crime and disorder and protect children from harm.

Ian Simpson, MD at Knight Training, said: “The person attending the course would have to have been in the licensing trade for six months.

“There are a total of 150 places for the whole of Lancashire and the course will run until December.

“The free course is for Level 1 and after that you can take the personal licence course at a reduced price.

“The course takes six hours and there is an exam after the course, after which you receive an accredited Level 1 certificate.”

If anyone in management has staff that haven’t got a personal licence and would be interested in having them trained in licensing law, contact Knight Training on 01524 388279 or email [email protected].
