Repairs to an M6 bridge resume this weekend.

Work to complete repairs to an M6 bridge in Lancashire will take place tomorrow night (Saturday August 1) after last weekend’s work was affected by heavy rain.

Work will resume tomorrow night with the closure of the eastbound M55 link onto the northbound M6 closed between 10pm and 6am on Sunday morning (August 2).

During this period the northbound carriageway through junction 32 and beyond the bridge will be reduced to a single lane with a 50mph speed limit in place.

Drivers on the eastbound M55 seeking to join the northbound M6 have 2 options:

*Leave the M55 at junction 1 and take the northbound A6 up to junction 33 of the M6 at Galgate, or

* ontinue along the M55, use the eastbound link road for the southbound M6, travel down to junction 31 for Samlesbury and join the northbound M6 from there

Drivers setting out on journeys can check travel conditions first.
