Public invited to talks on Morecambe Library future

Plans to change Morecambe Library into a self-service '˜satellite library' will be top of the agenda at the annual town meeting tonight (July 14).

Morecambe Town Council will meet this Thursday (July 14) to decide their own response to the Lancashire County Council proposals.

The town meeting is open to the public and anyone can attend to give their views on the plans for 
Morecambe Library and also plans to shut Balmoral Children’s Centre, Poulton Children’s Centre and Heysham Children and Young People’s Centres .

“The town council is keen to support the local community on this matter, but needs to hear as many views as possible in order to formulate a constructive and meaningful response to the county,” said David Croxall, clerk to 
Morecambe Town Council.

The town meeting will be followed by an extraordinary town council meeting to discuss the public’s views.
