A GROUP protesting against capitalism and public sector cuts has set up camp in Dalton Square.

The group pitched tents and a marquee on the grass by the Queen Victoria statue following the strikes and marches against pay and pension reforms in the public sector on Wednesday.

Seven people camped overnight and the group hoped more would join in and support the cause and boost numbers.

They are planning to hold a ‘general assembly’ at 6pm today, Thursday, for anyone who wishes to go along.
