Promenade to orchestra's last concert of the season in Morecambe

The Promenade Concert Orchestra presents its first Last Night of the Proms concert programme to end it's 11th season at the Platform on Sunday (May 20) at 3pm.

The PCO is joined by Carnforth and District Choral Society to sing some a selection of well-known opera choruses such as, the Grand March from Aida, Hebrew Slaves Chorus from Nabucco, Anvil Chorus from Il Trovatore by Verdi and the Easter Hymn from Cavalleria Rusticana.

Young professional soprano soloist, Rowena Thornton will be singing some arias by Verdi, Gounod and Johann Strauss and well-known baritone, Brian Lancaster will join her in the famous Fly Duet from Orpheus in the Underworld as well as local soloist, Ederic Ibbotson who will sing the well-known Chorus of Wedding Guests aria with the choir from Donizetti’s Lucia di Lammermoor.

The entire proceedings will be conducted by the PCO’s founder Howard Rogerson with the choir trained by chorus master, Martin Webster.
