Lancashire County Council issues trick-or-treat warning ahead of Halloween

With Halloween only a matter of days away, council officials are appealing to those looking forward to dressing up and visiting neighbours to avoid going door-to-door this year.

The light-hearted social media post, warns of the potential dangers of trick-or-treat buckets, calling them a "cauldron of germs".

This latest warning comes after Lancashire Resilience Forum, which co-ordinates the county's measures, ruled out community events for the remainder of 2020.

Annual celebrations, including Bonfire Night displays, Remembrance Sunday commemorations and Christmas lights switch-ons were also banned to help combat the pandemic.
