Lancashire County Council is urgently recruiting roles at its coronavirus testing centres - these are the jobs available and how you can apply

A variety of temporary paid roles are currently available at the testing centres, which are open seven days a week.

A Lancashire County Council spokesman said: "As we continue to face the unprecedented challenge of coronavirus, Lancashire County Council is committed to provide opportunities for testing available throughout the county, in a bid to slow the spread of the virus and help keep the people of Lancashire safe.

"As a county council we know this is something we cannot do on our own. We need to come together across Lancashire during this uncertain and difficult time to make sure we can more accurately track the spread of infection, identify cases and undertake contact tracing to safeguard our residents.

"We are now urgently recruiting paid community testers and support staff to help us carry out this crucial function.

"This is no small role as every time a positive test is identified, it helps make a direct impact on helping our collective fight against the virus."

What roles are available?

There are two roles currently available at testing centres in Lancashire, these are:

Covid-19 Community Swabber: These testers will be required to safely administer throat and nasal swab tests to members of the public who visit the test site.

Covid-19 Community Testing Support Officer: Support officers will provide support to the community testing sites across Lancashire, including recording test data and addressing any queries or concerns that members of the public may have.

What experiencing do I need?

No previous experience in a health or community setting is required.

Will there be training?

Full training will be provided, along with Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and any necessary training to ensure that PPE is used correctly.

All roles will require a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check, which will be arranged for you.
