"Would the Chancellor meet with me to discuss the Eden Project in Morecambe, that is coming shortly?, as this is exactly the kind of shovel ready project that would level up not just Morecambe but the whole of our region."

In response Chancellor Rishi Sunak said: ‘I will be very happy to meet with my Hon Friend and discuss his ambitions for his area and this project. I know he has put a lot of thought and energy into it along with his community and I very much hope that we can make progress over the coming years."

Speaking following the statement, Mr Morris said: "Continuing from the final business case submission from Eden to the Government last week, I am delighted that the Chancellor has reaffirmed his commitment to levelling up the North in the spending Review.

"The Levelling up fund seems a perfect opportunity to enable us to secure the £70m. that Eden need to ensure the project happens.
