Police appeal after 20-year-old student is assaulted in Lancaster

Strange markings were found in a church in East Yorkshire.

The incident happened at around 4am on Friday, June 17 when the victim, a 20-year-old man, met a man and walked with him along Hazelrigg Lane.

The man then grabbed the victim by the throat and punched him while a second man appeared on the pavement and shouted abuse at him.

The victim sustained swelling, bruising and scratches to his face.

The first man is described as white, between 6ft 1in and 6ft 2ins tall, stocky build, blonde hair, aged in his early twenties and was wearing a dark hooded top and dark jeans. He spoke with a north west accent and used the name Frankie.

The second man, who shouted the abuse, is described as white, between 6ft 1in and 6ft 2ins tall, medium build with dark hair. He also spoke with a north west accent.

PC Adam Jussub of Lancaster Police said: “This was a nasty attack on the victim who appears to have been set up by these two men.

“If anyone recognises their descriptions or if they witnessed the incident itself and have any information that could assist us I would urge them to get in touch as soon as possible.”
