Pupils and teachers from across Morecambe and Lancaster shared their fancy dress snaps, some dressing up as their favourite characters including Mr Twit from Roald Dahl and Harry Potter.

Staff from the University of Cumbria took on a super hero theme for the day which celebrates authors, illustrators, books and most importantly reading.

The main aim is to encourage children to explore the pleasures of books and reading by providing them with the opportunity to have a book of their own.

Thank you to all the proud parents and staff for sending in their pictures.
