"Having a world champion in our midst is surely something to be celebrated and we are speaking to our local partners, including Morecambe Town Council and Morecambe BID, about how we properly celebrate this tremendous accomplishment.
"We do, of course, also need to speak to Tyson about his own wishes and ensure any celebration fits with his busy schedule. Further details will be revealed once they have been confirmed.”
Morecambe MP David Morris also praised Fury saying: “Huge congratulations Tyson Fury, a fantastic achievement! Everyone in Morecambe is incredibly proud of you! "
