Fire crews were called to the M6 on Monday morning after a large vehicle caught fire.

Pumps from Carnforth, Morecambe and Hornby Fire Stations were called to the blaze at 11.42am.

On arrival it was found that the rear axle and hub on the vehicle had overheated and were steaming off

Crews used a hose reel to cool down the affected area and the incident was then handed over to the Highways Agency for vehicle recovery.
