Mum hires Morecambe FC to stage big indoor Christmas Market complete with reindeer

Clare Lyden’s business - Events by All Occasions - will be taking over Morecambe’s Mazuma Stadium on November 20 with an indoor Christmas Market which she believes will be the biggest event of its kind in the area.

The event planner, and mum of two, who makes her own vintage afternoon tea sets, has regular craft fairs at the County Lodge in Carnforth. She’s also staged them at the Victoria Institute in Caton, Garstang and Catterall Memorial Hall and most recently, at the AlannaFest in Heysham.

“This year, I wanted to do something a bit different so I’ve hired the Mazuma Stadium to stage a Christmas Market,” said Clare.

“Most people say what they like best about Christmas Markets is the atmosphere but often the weather spoils them which is why my event is indoors.”

Stalls will sell quality handmade crafts including jewellery, home wear, candles, soaps, scarves and children’s clothes alongside some food stalls, providing the perfect opportunity for some Christmas shopping.

As an extra treat, two reindeer, accompanied by elves, will be available in a marquee for feeding, stroking and photo opportunities. Tickets are already selling fast for this attraction which has been sponsored by Bay Garden Machinery and Top Wheels in Morecambe, and Lancaster Electrical Services Ltd and Shay Walsh Mixed Martial Arts in Lancaster.

Admission is free to the indoor market which runs from 10am-5.30pm and tickets to visit the reindeer from 12-3pm are £3.50.
