The pair have come together for the release of their new single ‘Through Thick And Thin’ (I’ll Stand By You) today, Friday May 15.

And Lauren Maguire, supported by the charity’s nursing and support programme, is one of seven young people that appear in the music video for the track.

The song is a rousing ballad that will bring the nation together during lockdown, with the lyrics having particular resonance during these times.

But the song is also dedicated to the essential support that Teenage Cancer Trust offers across the UK to young people, like Lauren, who have faced or are facing cancer.

Lauren Maguire, 26, who was diagnosed with melanoma, said: “It was absolutely amazing to be able to dip my toe into the world of music - it’s every young person’s dream - and to do it alongside these with two iconic artists is just out of this world.

“Living with cancer is tough. You don’t feel like you and you often feel alone. Going through cancer whilst the world deals with the coronavirus pandemic adds an extra layer of emotion and the feeling of isolation is magnified. But Teenage Cancer Trust has been there for me through thick and thin. They understand me and have been here for me.

“Buying this single will allow Teenage Cancer Trust to continue to offer this support. So download and enjoy the track and make a difference to young people like me who are facing cancer, now and in the future.”

Tyler, who catapulted to worldwide fame with hits ‘Holding Out For A Hero’ and ‘Total Eclipse of the Heart’ is lifelong friend of Crosby, female duet partner on the 1993 Meatloaf classic ‘I’d Do Anything for Love (But I Won’t Do That).

Each day, seven young people aged 13 to 24 hear the words ‘you have cancer’. Teenage Cancer Trust’s specialist nurses, support teams, and hospital units work within the NHS to provide young people with expert care and support, throughout their cancer treatment and beyond.

At the moment, many are working alongside NHS colleagues to respond to the coronavirus pandemic.

Tyler and Crosby’s support for the Teenage Cancer Trust comes as the charity’s flagship annual week of fundraising shows at the Royal Albert Hall, bringing together artists and comedians to perform over 7 days and set to raise more than £1million, had to be cancelled in March due to the coronavirus pandemic.

‘Through Thick And Thin’ (I’ll Stand By You), released by AWAL/Kobalt, is available on iTunes and all digital platforms. 100 per cent of all profits will go to Teenage Cancer Trust.
