Morecambe Music Festival Live Lounge in charity cash bid

Morecambe Music Festival Live Lounge is now raising money for this year's festival and two local charities.

The Live Lounge which started broadcasting live acts including singers and DJs on Friday, now has over 9,300 members in just a few days and a GoFundMe page has already raised £1,233 which will be split between Morecambe Music Festival, St John’s Hospice and Team Reece.

Morecambe Music Festival founder Stuart Michaels said: “50% of the money raised will go towards Morecambe Music Festival, 25% to the hospice and 25% to Team Reece.

“I’d love to have £10k in it by the end which would be lovely to give. Team Reece and the hospice have events happening all the time which have been cancelled so we want to try and give them a bit of money.

"Already we’ve had Jeff Layton live performing to people in Morecambe and Lancaster and he is an established West End legend performing in Les Miserables.

"My first set on Friday stands out as one of my top three best gigs in my life that was sung in my kitchen!

“A lot of the acts are getting thousands of views for their videos, and people have been tuning in from around the world.

"From Friday the Live Lounge will be featuring up and coming talent from 4pm, then singers at 6pm, 7pm and 8pm, then from 9pm there will be DJ sets run by DJ Matt Thiss, (contact Stuart or Matt Thiss to request a slot).

“For the Live Lounge to be in its third or fourth day and to have achieved this is remarkable. The feedback has been absolutely wonderful."
