Morecambe health food shop closes its doors

Holland & Barrett in Euston Road was shut permanently on Wednesday as part of a review by the company of its stores.

The firm, which sells health food and natural remedies, has another outlet in Lancaster city centre.

“We continually review our locations and can confirm that we closed our Morecambe store on Wednesday 5th March,” a Holland & Barrett spokesman said.

"Our next nearest store is just over four miles away in Lancaster and we look forward to welcoming our customers from Morecambe soon.

“As part of Holland & Barrett’s c. £70million investment in the transformation of its stores, technology and new product development, we are continually reviewing our locations to provide our customers the very best health and wellness products and advice.

"This includes opening new stores, consolidating some smaller stores into one larger store, and in some instances closing stores where there is no longer strong customer demand.

"H&B are opening and renovating over 200 stores in the UK and we are investing in at least one store a day in a store refresh and refurbishment program across UK & Ireland.”
