But they were finally married at Lancaster Register Office on Monday morning, with 10 guests allowed to attend.

Both Emily, 25, and Harry, 24, went to Central Lancaster High School, where they met. Emily now works for the Co-op while Harry works for his dad.

The pair should have got married at the Aston Memorial in July, followed by a honeymoon to Benidorm, but had to cancel their plans.

Emily's mum Mary Wilson said: "Both were heartbroken, so they booked the register office for 21st December.

"It was lovely; afterwards they went to the prom at Morecambe and took more pictures. It was a beautiful day, Emily looked like a princess."

The couple have now booked the Ashton Memorial again for July 2022 for a blessing and reception.
