Stadium sponsors, Mazuma, have become the main shirt sponsors for The Shrimps’ FA Cup campaign and have donated that space to St John’s Hospice.

That means the charity’s logo will appear on the club's front shirts throughout the campaign that starts at Maldon and Tiptree this weekend.

The Shrimps’ shirts from the cup campaign will then be donated to the hospice who will auction them off for much needed funds.

Martin Thomas, The Shrimps’ commercial manager, said: “Football League clubs are allowed to wear special kits for the FA Cup campaign.

“We worked with Mazuma on this and we thought it would be a great idea if we could use the shirts to help raise money for a local charity.

“St John’s Hospice is one of many local charities that has suffered as a result of the pandemic and we hope that they will be able to raise some much-needed funds.’'

Suzanne Parker, head of marketing at Mazuma said: “We are delighted to be supporting St John’s Hospice with the shirt sponsorship deal.

"A charity close to the hearts of many of our employees, the hospice is a vital service to so many in our region.

"Sadly, the latest pandemic has had a huge impact on their fundraising efforts, with many events being cancelled.

"We wanted to do something to help and hope this donation will encourage others to support the hospice however they can.”
