Lancaster educational charity seeks applicants for support

The George Fox Educational Charity, founded to provide financial support to talented young people under the age of 25 who live within 25 miles of Lancaster to further their education, is seeking applications.
The charity will give grants to young people for things such as equipment, clothing, tools, instruments, books or other materials that will allow a young person to prepare for the next stage in their education.The charity will give grants to young people for things such as equipment, clothing, tools, instruments, books or other materials that will allow a young person to prepare for the next stage in their education.

The charity will not usually fund tuition fees for a university or college course but it may fund things like travel or additional course costs if a young person would not otherwise be able to take advantage of opportunities presented to them.

Trustees meet twice each year to consider applications.

"We know that there are many talented young people in our district who might be able to benefit from the George Fox Educational Charity" says David Baker, chair of the charity.

"We would encourage anyone with a talent who might be struggling to get to the next level to consider making an application.
