As always, the Lancaster area forms an inspirational back drop to their eclectic country-alt-folk-rock style.

There are the familiar nods to the likes of Barenaked Ladies, Fleet Foxes, Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young, America, early Lindisfarne, R.E.M and Fairport Convention, whilst this album also finds them branching out into reggae on the hilarious (and currently apt) ‘Duvet Day’ and the sublimely witty ‘Calma Sutra’, whilst Lancastrians should love the ‘Lune Valley Ramble’ which taps into a bossa nova vibe, with ‘sixteen miles of path and styles!’

This eleven track album, recorded at Lancaster Musician’s Cooperative during 2019, shows the Twinks in fine song-writing form and includes live favourites such as the storming ‘Landslides of England’ (a brooding anthem for social change) and the wonderfully bouncy ‘My List of Things’, which evokes the foot-tapping bluegrass sounds from ‘O Where Brother Art Thou’.

Strong musicianship and impressive four-part harmonies permeate all tracks forming an anchoring musical glue.

For this album, the band have included a completely reworked mandolin driven version of their Lancaster murder tale ‘The Ballad of Buck Ruxton’, (previously only available on their out of print first E.P), now renamed ‘One Too Many Murders’.

The band describe their new album as a box of delights and suggest that these ten original tracks, along with the stonking country-tinged cover of Violent Femmes’ classic ‘Jesus Walking on the Water’, might just be their best album yet.
