Lancaster City Council said on their Facebook page: "We’ve relaxed restrictions on dogs on Morecambe’s beaches for the time being to help people living close by to keep their pets fit and healthy while also observing rules on social distancing.
"The restrictions normally apply on the north and south beaches during the summer to help comply with the Seaside Award and maintain water quality.
"They were due to come in tomorrow (May 1).

"Please remember though that we should all only be leaving home when strictly necessary, more information on which is available here: www.gov.uk/coronavirus.
"Please also remember though that you’ll still need to ‘pick up’ after your dog and dispose of your bags in the litter bins provided."
