The ride will begin at the Winter Gardens in Blackpool and end at Morecambe Winter Gardens.

Trustee Paul Anderton, a local solicitor, is taking up the challenge and it is hoped that another trustee, Martin Shenton, will be able to accompany him, depending on his work schedule.

It is being held on Sunday October 18.

The theatre's Preservation Trust last month launched a £25,000 crowdfunding campaign in a bid to preserve the building for future generations.

They have already raised almost £16,000 of that target.

The trust has been working tirelessly over the past three months to mitigate the effect of Covid-19 on the future of the Grade 2* listed building.

In that time they have raised essential money to pay for the monthly overheads of £3,000 and clear historic debts.

However, loss of income, cancellation of all events and current restrictions has seen their income drop by 80 per cent, despite a record amount of external revenue raised - £250,000 - all of which was for essential building works and required matching funding.
