Paving slabs dug up in Morecambe weeks after being laid
New paving stones laid just weeks ago outside Morecambe's Arndale Centre as part of a regeneration scheme have been dug up.
Betty Atack, of Lord Street, Morecambe, said: “I’m so irate, they never think before they do anything. I’m as sick as a parrot.”
A spokesman for Lancaster City Council said: “This is outside of the city council’s control but is understood to be necessary for a new use of premises at the Arndale Centre.
“The county council, as the highways authority, will require a high quality of reinstatement using surface materials as existing and we are working closely with them to ensure this takes place.”
