TWO men have admitted carrying out a post office robbery in Lancaster in which £21,500 was stolen.
Eoghan McMullen, 30, of Pinehurst Avenue, Anfield, Liverpool and Michael Carroll, 38, of Wenlock Road, Liverpool, both pleaded guilty at Preston Crown Court to the robbery at Scale Hall Post Office in Cleveleys Avenue, on October 1 last year.
Mr Paul Brookwell, prosecuting, said that one of the men threatened staff with a hammer, adding that there was some grappling and manhandling.
The court heard that Carroll had recently been released from a nine year sentence he had served for another robbery.
Sentencing was adjourned to May 12 pending an assessment by the probation service.
Both men were remanded in custody.
