Conlons Opticians are searching for a budding Lancaster baker to design them a birthday cake in celebration of their 35th birthday.

The competition, to be judged by Conlon’s managing director John Welsby, will allow the winner to either bake with ingredients paid for by Conlons, up to the sum of £200, or have their cake made for them by a professional cake maker.

The winner will also receive some brand new designer glasses of their choice with Carl Zeiss lenses. Conlons want readers to draw their designs on an A4 page, using the company logo colours of black, red and white to produce their perfect confectionary creation.

Conlons Lancaster branch manager Debbie Illingworth is optimistic about the project and Conlons itself.

She said: “ We are very excited to be celebrating Conlons 35th anniversary and look forward to an exciting year and have various celebrations planned. I really enjoy working with the local community and very much look forward to seeing the cake designs.”

To enter the competition, send finished designs to Conlons and Sons Ltd, 24 Penny Street, Lancaster, LA1 1UA.
