This week we’re gonna look at a couple of the things that may be holding you back from achieving success with your goals.
Let’s start with a question. What is the main difference between the successful and unsuccessful? We’ve covered both these topics before, but let’s hammer them home again.
As we grow older, life deals us less time. As every day passes we are one day shorter on our time on this planet. We get married, we pay bills, we work long hours, we have children. Elements that mean we are going to be even shorter on time. Free time is a luxury.
Every single person on this planet has 24 hours in a day.
So why is it that you have failed to achieve your goals or ‘vision’?
Time does not stop us establishing those goals we continue to miss. We need to use the time we’ve got right now, and we need to get on it.
Set strong goals – your ‘vision’, your goal.
It has to be strong. Don’t mess about talking about how you want to ‘lose a few pounds’. How many – 14, 20, 60?
Many people fail on this and actually end up putting on more weight because of the vague nature of their poor goal setting. Be specific. Set a time line, track and measure.
Set small, attainable targets.
“I will lose three pounds by attending the gym four times this week.” It’s specific. It’s not “I’ll put my gym gear in the car, and see how I feel after work, and I’ll try to lose a little bit of weight this week”. Give yourself seven days to accomplish it. Move heaven and earth to accomplish it.
Once you achieve this goal move straight on with the next. Specify it before you move on it. Ask yourself about how you will achieve it and what you will need to do it. Small daily improvements are the key to staggering long-term success.
