Well, last week was Tom’s first week back at school after the Easter break, and to be honest it was a difficult week for him in regards to adjusting back to his routine at school.
Although he was unsettled at school he was very happy at home. I am thinking that him being unsettled at school was most probably due to the drastic change in his routine after a two week break at home, as well as the build-up of excitement over his birthday.
However, there is also the fact that Andrew was off school last week, as he had an extra week off, so more than likely a combination of these two factors was the reason for him being so unsettled at school.
So far this week has been a more settled one for him as he has had a week of ‘getting back into it,’ so everything is now back to normal, or as normal as it can be in this house.
He did though end the week on a high when he brought home his Star of the Week certificate, earned because he shared his scooter with a little girl during break time.
He was very proud of this, as we all were.
Stephen also had a great week back at school; he got a place in a gardening club starting in a week’s time, and to celebrate a good week back at school, Andrew took him to Pizza Hut for tea.
He was more excited about the ice cream factory than the pizza, and the fact that he could have chocolate mini eggs with it.
Anyway on Saturday we all went to Lakeland Wildlife Oasis, or the ‘little zoo’ as Tom likes to call it, outside of Milnthorpe.
Both boys love it there, and we all had a lovely time.
Tom was fascinated by the meerkats and enjoyed watching them basking in the sunshine. He also paid particular attention to the leaf cutter ants.
Both boys enjoyed running around in the playground, near to where the meerkats are situated, and had fun, the way that little boys do.
It was a lovely way to end the week.
So this week has been very different, with everyone back at school.
The house seems very quiet.
