We will celebrate all things Lancashire in the House of Commons with our very own Lancashire Day on Tuesday, November 27.

It is an opportunity for us Lancashire MPs to show off local produce and to promote our constituencies to other MP’s and Peers.

I am delighted to tell you that representing Morecambe and Lunesdale will be James Baxter and Co’s Morecambe Bay Potted Shrimps.

James Baxter has been producing Morecambe Bay potted shrimps since the 18th Century and as well as holding a warrant to Supply Her Majesty the Queen, many celebrity chefs have visited to try and get a glimpse of the secret recipe. Rumour has it that the shrimps will be served with toast. I will report back next week.

I have recently contacted Network Rail, Virgin Trains and First requesting meetings. Restoring connectivity at Carnforth station remains a high priority to me and I will continue meeting with Ministers, Government bodies and the rail companies to promote Carnforth at every opportunity.
