Well, all I can say is that we have had a wonderful weekend.

Tom was in a really happy mood and once again wanted to go out and about.

In fact, he had been asking to go to The Zone in Lancaster since last Tuesday. Every morning without fail, while stood waiting for the school taxi, he would ask me, “We go The Zone on Saturday?” To which I would reply, “Yes Tom.”

Well to my amusement he awoke Saturday morning full of beans at 5am after a short sleep, although he was asking to go there and play, this was a little tricky at 5am.

He just didn’t understand why he couldn’t go straight there.

He kept asking, what felt like every ten minutes, if it was time to get ready. Those five hours felt very long indeed.

Anyway, go there we did and we had a lovely time.

Stephen was fantastic and ‘looked after’ him, as he told me he wanted to.

I could hear him telling the other children that Tom was his little brother.

To be honest though, it wasn’t too busy and Tom was very well behaved.

He just had fun running about while Stephen tried to catch up to him.

I just sat and watched the boys having fun, while enjoying a cup of coffee, so all was good.

After soft play we also managed to pop and see the Naughty Man at the Museum.

Once home, Tom asked for a picnic, and Stephen said he would provide the music, so that’s what we did.

Stephen found the Toca Boca tea party app on the IPad and we sat listening to the soft jazz melody, while enjoying our indoor picnic goodies.

I have to say that the weekends are now much better than before the summer holidays, as during this time Tom refused to leave the house.

He wanted to stay in his pyjamas all day.

This meant that the weekends seemed incredibly long for us all.

However, now that he is happy to leave the house we are making the most of it.

I just need to put my thinking cap on and figure out what fun we can all get up to.
