Helping to save the self-employed £134 a year

I was delighted that in the budget this change was confirmed, which means the system for paying nationally insurance if you are self-employed is now much simpler.

I recently asked a Parliamentary Question to see if the Treasury had done any analysis on how much money an individual self-employed person would save and they informed me that, on average, it would save each person £134 a year. This is fantastic, I am of firm belief that reducing red tape for business and abolishing class 2 NI contributions is definitely a step in the right direction.

I was pleased recently to receive confirmation from the Football Stadia Improvement Fund that Slyne with Hest FC have been awarded £15,000 to undergo renovation and repost work following the storm earlier this year. I am delighted the Football Foundation is investing in the constituency and promoting football as a sport locally to allow matches and training to continue to take place.

This week I have been sent an annual review from the Morrisons Foundation. This foundation is a charitable arm of Morrisons which supports charities of all sizes in areas which have a Morrisons store. Charities which cover all different areas are eligible for funding so if you are involved in a charity locally it is well worth an application.

Please remember to contact the County Council and report any potholes in the streets surrounding where you live. Lancashire County Council has been given £1.24m this year to repair potholes and, at an average cost of £54 a pothole, that is a huge amount which can be filled in across Lancashire.
