As I am sure you are aware from reading in the newspaper, the Prime Minister visited F Edmondson & Sons International Furniture Transport on the White Lund Industrial Estate last week.

While the Prime Minister was here he was able to announce that the Heysham M6 Link Road will be built which really is excellent news.

Work is scheduled to start in January next year and I am pleased that I have been able to deliver the link road.

Earlier this week, the Minister for Government Policy, Rt Hon Oliver Letwin MP, met with Craig Smith, co-owner of SHP Ltd. also on White Lund. Oliver was impressed with SHP. They are a firm specialising in high-tech recycling things like mobile phones, tablets, computers and storage devices.

Some weeks ago I created a petition in conjunction with Silverdale Parish Council. The petition urges railway companies to stop more trains at Silverdale.

I’d like to remind you that you can still sign this petition during the festive period. If you take a look at my website, www.davidmorrismp.co.uk, you will see a section devoted to the petition. It gives you the opportunity to sign the online version or to download a copy of the paper petition to sign and perhaps take to friends and neighbours for them to sign too.

I am currently supporting the poppy scatter campaign which is being masterminded by a local man called Steve Trainor. Steve has a great idea to plant poppy seeds right across the Morecambe and Lunesdale constituency so that when we commemorate the 100th anniversary of the First World War in August 2014, the poppies will be in full bloom for all to see and for young and old to remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice in the First World War. It would also be good if this idea could be rolled out on a more national basis too.

I would like to take this opportunity to wish you and your family a very happy Christmas.
