I have written to County Councillor Matthew Tomlimson urging him to resign.
Tomlinson is the Labour County Councillor who has overseen the closure of Skerton Community High School, a process that has been nothing short of disgraceful.
There has been no planning and the parents, pupils and staff have all been left confused as to what the future holds.
I would also urge you to write to your local County Councillor expressing your concern.
It now looks like the school will remain open for Year 10 pupils to complete their GCSE study. Earlier this week, I asked parents and the wider community to put together a free school application to help bring some certainty to the future of Skerton School.
Congratulations to all candidates elected as our new MEP’s, I look forward to working with them in the future.
It is clear from the results that there is a lot of euro skepticism in the country but at the same time I think it is important to keep in mind that only the Conservative party will give you a referendum on Europe.
Therefore, it is crucial that skeptics stick together and allow the Prime Minister David Cameron to deliver us an in/out referendum in 2017.
I have written in this column previously that I worked on the EU Referendum Bill with James Wharton MP and therefore I am committed to delivering an in/out Referendum. I believe giving voters here in Morecambe and Lunesdale a referendum is the best way to decide on what our future relationship should be with Europe.
Previously I have also expressed my deep concerns about the amount of red tape the European Union has imposed on us.
I used to run businesses and I know that local business owners want to prosper and employ staff not navigate their way around red tape generated from Brussells.
I will of course keep you updated on European issues through this column in the coming months.
I am keen to hear your thoughts about how we can improve the area.
