Thank you to everyone who has come to my summer tour so far.

During the course of the week my tour has taken me to different parts of the constituency and I have held meet your MP events and advice surgeries in Warton, Carnforth, Silverdale and Over Kellet to name a few places I have visited.

On Friday morning, I will hold an advice surgery at Asda and on Saturday I will have a street stall in Morecambe Town Centre just outside the Arndale Centre.

Also this week, I was lucky to be able to visit SHP Ltd which is an IT / computer and mobile phone recycling company based at White Lund in the old Reebok building. SHP Ltd recycle, redistribute and also carry out data wiping too.

Thank you to the team there for making me so welcome and allowing me to see the premises.

Last week, you may have seen me on the BBC’s Newsnight programme talking about shale gas extraction, also known as fracking. I am in favour of fracking because it will bring employment to Morecambe and Lunesdale.

The community compensation programme that I am working on with the Government will mean a massive amount of investment into communities which will bring prosperity.

It’s a pleasure to be able to tell you that Morecambe and Heysham Yacht club has received £50,000 from National Lottery funding through Sport England.

I am pleased to tell you that the Vale of Lune Rugby Club has also received £50,000.

This is a huge amount of investment in the constituency and will be a huge boost.

Undoubtedly testament to the high standard of rugby played at the Vale of Lune and the high standard of coaching at Morecambe and Heysham Yacht Club.

I have attended the Vale of Lune in my capacity as MP, fan, patron and proud dad having watched my son play there too.

Well done everyone. This is really great news and another example of the funding that is beginning to come into Morecambe & Lunesdale.

Vale of Lune hope to build a roof on their clubhouse and improve the frontage while the yacht club hope to upgrade premises and facilities to get more people sailing.
