Last week I was dismayed to learn that the county council seems determined to push ahead with the removal of evening and Sunday bus services across our area including services to many of our villages and the Ridge and Marsh Estates.
These proposed cuts will damage transport, with many of our elderly and most vulnerable left isolated.
I am sure the county will say that these cuts are due to a lack of money – but somewhat perplexing when they have already agreed to take over the Bus Garage from Preston City Council – which as they well know will cost millions to refurbish!
If you would like to oppose these cuts please contact the county as soon as possible by either emailing email@example.com or writing to them at Bus and Supported Transport Manager Lancashire County Council, Room D3, PO Box 100 County Hall, Preston PR1 0LD.
Christmas really began for me last Sunday with the Nine Lessons and Carols at the Priory here in Lancaster.
As usual this was both a moving and enjoyable demonstration of the true meaning of Christmas.
It also demonstrated what a fantastic choir we have at the Priory.
Finally I would like to wish everyone a very merry Christmas and hope that the economic recovery that we are starting to see carries on throughout the new year.
As always, please contact me if I can be of any help.
