We would like to thank everyone who has visited the shop and taken part in the events we have held so far, co-manager Lindsey King said.

Over the past couple of weeks, we have passed judgement (and been judged) in our Moot Court, puzzled over some optical illusions and painted almost 200 Easter eggs. We also took a trip down memory lane with our project partners, St Nicholas Arcades, and used your stories to build up a picture of how Lancaster city centre has changed and developed over the past 25 years.

As we move into April we are carrying on the celebration of some of the great things about our city and region.

One of the ways we do that every day on the university campus is through the food we serve in all of our cafes, dining areas and bars. Lancaster University is part of the Soil Association’s ‘Food for Life’ scheme, so we have made a commitment to use seasonal, fresh and local produce, meat and milk. Our chefs work closely with suppliers across the city and in the area to make sure we do this - we even use vegetables from the vice chancellor’s garden

At the same time, we are very keen to pass on messages about health and healthy eating to our students, and our executive chef, Julian Ankers, offers regular cookery demonstrations and lessons to students and members of staff.

Julian will be joining us at Campus in the City on the afternoon of April 6 to demonstrate some dishes for us.

We’re not sure which ones yet, but we know they will be delicious. We also know he will be looking for kitchen helpers on the day, so why not call in and give us a hand? As with all events, it’s free and everyone is welcome. We look forward to seeing you here.
