The website, which can be found at www.nestlancashire.org, offers information and guidance to young people aged 10 to 18 who have been left hurt or upset following a crime or incident.

Young people can refer themselves through the site to access help and support including advice over the phone, one to one meetings, group activities with other young people, confidence building and other social activities including sports.

The service, established by Police and Crime Commissioner Clive Grunshaw earlier this year, specialises in supporting young people who have been affected by crimes and incidents like bullying, grooming, sexual abuse, violent crime, coercive control, theft and criminal damage.

Mr Grunshaw said: “Supporting victims is a key priority for me and younger victims can be particularly vulnerable following a crime or an upsetting incident.

“We know that young people access services differently and I am pleased that the dedicated website now provides an additional way for young people to find out more about the service and to refer themselves to get the support they need.”

Groundwork’s Andrew Fletcher, who manages the service on behalf of the Police Crime Commissioner’s Office said: “It’s really important for young people to be able to access the help and information they need, quickly and easily. The new website, in addition to the helpline and our social media platforms means that the service now provides a full range of support in ways that suit young people best.”

Young people can also access the service by calling 0300 111 0323, by texting NEST and their number to 60777 or by sending an email to [email protected].
