Olly chatted and posed for pictures with fans outside before he cut the opening ribbon.

Speaking to the paper backstage Olly said: “This is my first time here, I am loving it, it’s a great place.

“I am enjoying the atmosphere, everyone seems really lovely. What a beautiful place!

“Even just coming to Lancaster and seeing the support, when you are in Essex and London, you are always doing different bits and bobs and you see a lot of fans but when you come out to a place like here, to see the reaction and the love, it really means a lot, so thank you to everyone that came out today.”

The pair chatted over difficult songs to sing live, both agreeing on Troublemaker and Olly even gave Stuart some advice.

Olly said: “Just keeping making hay while the sun shines.

“I have done all that, I have done bars, I know what it’s like, it’s very difficult, so I hold my hat off to you. So fair play to you mate, keep it up, keep enjoying it.”

Olly also spoke about his family, workload and the floods which hit the district last year.

He said: “I remember seeing the floods on the news, where I am in Essex we don’t get hit by that much rain, I felt really bad for you guys here, and I am really chuffed now that everything is back up and running and hopefully you won’t get rain like that again.

“I would love to do TV again and I will do it for sure, just at the minute I have got a contract with SONY and they mean a lot to me and my music means a lot to me, so I really want to focus on that now for the next two or three years. “If a TV show comes up in that time that excites me, something I may be interested in, then I will definitely 100 per cent give it a go.

“But at the moment I am just concentrating on new music, it’s good to be back.

“I see family all the time, they come and watch me a lot.

“I always try and see them as much as they can but they know I am busy.

“I am back playing football with my local team at the weekend, so that will be nice, this week has been a bit mental so it will be nice to go back to a bit of reality and play a bit of footie.”
