Only two games beat the weather on Saturday in the Baines Bagguley Penhale North Lancashire and District Football League, with Cartmel and Highgrove coming away with victories.
Cartmel entertained College AFC and hammered them 10-0 in what was a dominant performance.
From the first whistle they took control and goals started to fly in early on, and continued at regular intervals with Carl Davidson (2), Sam Taylor, Adam Harding, Carl Airey (3), Cameron Young and Matthew Burrows (3) all getting on the scoresheet.
Meanwhile, Highgrove travelled to Trimpell and Bare Rangers and claimed a 2-1 victory thanks to goals from Tom Starke and Luke Ogley.
Trimpell started brightly but they didn’t create many meaningful chances, and in the last 20 minutes of the first half Highgrove piled on the pressure, which resulted in a dissallowed goal for offside.
Both teams hit the woodwork in the second half and it looked like the game was destined to end 0-0 until the 80th minute when Aiden Dunphy lashed in a freekick from 25 yards out to give Trimpell the lead. However, with just four minutes left Starke calmly chipped the ball over the keeper to equalise, and two minutes later Ogley slid the ball home to earn his team the win.
