Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds will headline the Thursday night at this year’s Lytham Festival.
The former Oasis star and his band will take to the stage at Lytham Green in the middle of the week-long festival.
The gig will mark the first time singer-songwriter Noel has played live on the Fylde Coast since October 1995 – when Oasis performed a now legendary show at Blackpool’s Empress Ballroom, on the same day their landmark album, (What’s The Story) Morning Glory, was released.
He joins fellow rock legend Bryan Adams on the Lytham bill, with the Canadian singer headlining on Saturday August 6.
Lytham Festival is organised by promoters Cuffe and Taylor. Director Peter Taylor said: “We are absolutely delighted to announce that Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds are to headline the Thursday night at Lytham Festival 2016.
“Noel is without question a British music legend and cultural icon who has written some of the biggest and best anthems of the last 30 years.
“Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds is going to be an amazing night for Lytham.
“The fact this will be Noel’s first appearance on the Fylde Coast since that legendary night in 1995 will make this extra special and so we simply can’t wait for August 4.”
Also confirmed for Lytham Festival are Village People, Earth, Wind and Fire, Bay City Rollers, who will be among the acts at a Remix night on Friday August 5.
The festival ends with a West End Proms night featuring Lea Salonga, Ramin Karimloo, Collabro, Ruthie Henshall, Claire Sweeney, Jodie Prenger and Lucie Mae Sumner on Sunday August 7.
• Tickets for Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds go on general sale at 9am on Friday March 4 and are available from www.ticketmaster.co.uk or www.ticketline.co.uk, priced from £45.
