Noel Gallagher and Madness to headline Kendal Calling

Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds, Rudimental, Madness and The Charlatans will headline this year's Kendal Calling festival.

The four day event returns to Lowther Deer Park in the Lake District on July 28 - 31 for its 11th birthday, with Craig David, Toddla T, Everything Everything, The Darkness, We Are Scientists and The Hives also on the bill.

Madness are celebrating 40 years since their formation while Tim Burgess, lead singer of The Charlatans and founder of the festival’s Tim Peaks diner, said it would be an “extra special” four days.

He added: “As ever, I’m really looking forward to Kendal Calling.

“The sixth year in a row for me, the second time The Charlatans will have headlined and this year is the fifth year for Tim Peaks.

Hip hop legends Sugarhill Gang will also be filling the customary Friday early evening slot on the main stage.

Kendal Calling founder Ben Robinson said: “My first gig in a field was Loch Lomond watching Oasis twenty years ago.

Last year tickets, currently priced at £135, sold out 19 weeks in advance.
