THE chairman of NHS North Lancashire Primary Care Trust (PCT) has resigned three years before his term was due to end.
William Bingley stood down from his post last Friday, June 24, saying he wanted to direct his time and energy towards his charity, The Abaseen Foundation, which he runs with his wife Helen.
Mr Bingley has been chairman of the trust, which commissions services in north Lancashire, since 2006. He was due to be chairman until 2014.
He said: “It has been a great pleasure to work with so many dedicated NHS colleagues.
“I leave the PCT in the knowledge it is under secure leadership and will be well-served in pursuit of its goals.
“My time and energies will now be directed towards new horizons, including my work with charity.”
