The Lancaster Guardian this week embarks on one of the most exciting periods in its long and illustrious history.
After 174 years as a broadsheet newspaper, it will be published in an easier-to-read compact format – the same size as The Times and The Independent – starting today, May 19.
Your favourite local newspaper will still contain all the great content which makes it essential reading.
It will have a refreshed design to go with its new format but there will be no radical changes. Think of it as a gentle facelift for a familiar friend. There will be some great new features to add enjoyment to your weekly read.
We will have better food and drink coverage, including regular restaurant reviews, and there will be a weekly walk to help you make the most of our beautful countryside.
Most importantly we will continue to provide the very best coverage of news, sport and entertainment relevant to the area where you live.
We cover the news that directly affects you and your family – everything from planning issues, education, crime, local politics, community events and charity fundraising. No other newspaper covers Lancaster’s arts, entertainment and sport in such detail or depth.
Our letters page is THE forum for informed local debate.
The Nostalgia page gives a weekly glimpse into the district’s rich history and we also deliver valuable local information and data, from a full list of everyone who appears at Lancaster Magistrates’ Court to hospital visiting times, weather reports and tide times.
Every week we will save you money with a host of exclusive offers.
The Lancaster Guardian has a huge range of content to choose from, so don’t miss out.
