James Thompson has announced a new association with Clitheroe-based auction house Silverwoods, following a readjustment of the traditional business.

James Thompson was established in the centre of Kirkby Lonsdale in 1945 and it is now run by Glyn Thompson, the third generation of the Thompson family.

Mr Thompson said: “I am delighted about this exciting new relationship with Silverwoods, as it will mean I will continue to carry out valuations of fine art, antiques, collectables and quality household effects.

“This work, on their behalf, will be concentrated especially in the North and West of Lancashire, Cumbria and the North Yorkshire areas, where we have built a strong and loyal following over many years.”

Items for sale can still be taken to the Kirkby Lonsdale storage facility in the town’s Main Street by arrangement.

They will then be sold at Silverwoods’ Rediscovery sales and bi-monthly fine art and antique auctions in Lincoln Way, Clitheroe.
