Teenager, 17, charged with attempted murder and robbery after stabbing in Morecambe

Police have charged a teenager following an incident in Morecambe last weekend in which a man was stabbed.

Emergency services were called to Kensington Road at 6.45pm on Saturday August 31 and a man in his 50s was found to have suffered stab injuries.

A 17-year-old boy from Billinge, Wigan, was arrested on Sunday following enquiries.

Following consultation with the Crown Prosecution Service, the boy was charged with attempted murder, robbery, and possession of a bladed article in a public place.

He appeared before Lancaster Magistrates Court on Tuesday and was remanded in youth detention to appear at Preston Youth Court on September 10.
